Feeling Security in Insecurity

Tuesday, April 17, 2018

For one of my assignments for my photography class this semester, we had to get inspired by another photographer who we look up too and interpret their photography style in our own unique way. So, of course, I chose one of my favorite photographers Sarah Bahbah.

One photo can tell a thousand words, but Sarah Bahbah provides a whole story. If you are not familiar with Sarah Bahbah’s work, you have probably have seen it all over your Instagram feed. She is an amazing photographer who doesn’t just provide us with not only with gorgeous “re-grammable” photos but she provides humorous subtitles bringing them to life. Making them seem like they were screencaps in a movie.

I have always wanted to do a shoot that focused on insecurities and vulnerability, so I took advantage of that during this assignment.

Who knew that a bathroom can make you feel so vulnerable. She is obviously naked but she was exposed in many other ways in one. Focusing on her insecurities, even though they can not be seen by anyone else's eyes. They run deeper than the surface but they are always there in your mind, every day. Pointing them out starts to become part of your everyday routine.

I hope you enjoy these! (be gentle I am very much an amateur)
